Finally, it is good to be back at CommunicAsia, Singapore. The event location was changed from Marina Bay Sands at the city centre to Singapore Expo near the Changi airport.

CommunicAsia is Asia’s longest running and largest integrated ICT event, serving as an international business networking platform for Multi-National Corporations to SMEs and start-ups, as well as to highlight their latest technologies and innovations for today's hyper-connected digital world.

This year’s CommunicAsia 2022 continued to have a large focus on mobility and connectivity. Three thematic clusters – NXT Cities, NXT Enterprises and NXT Connected Lifestyle, showcased how innovations such as 5G, IoT, cloud, OTT, big data and applications among many other ‘smart’ technologies and solutions, have and will continue to impact cities, public and private sectors, and consumers.

For Ranplan, we loved being there to meet face to face with our customers and partners to discuss and highlight our values which predominantly revolves around solving problems. We can support the evolution of your wireless networks, creating cost-savings and design efficiencies for both indoor and outdoor environments on 5G, Private Wireless, Public-Safety and other wireless technologies based on 3GPP release 17 standards.

We have invested in Research and Development to constantly provide the latest innovation based on the market requirements that improve the software to solve customer challenges.

Some of the challenges that were discussed at CommunicAsia:

Challenge 1: Indoor planning with complex building shape and size.
Solution: Ranplan has built-in modules that can provide automatic building creation from CAD drawings or simplistic tool to easily draw or modify complex structures.

Challenge 2: To simulate interference coming from outdoor environment.
Solution: Ranplan Professional supports outdoor planning as well, thus customers can create outdoor scenarios and simulate outdoor-to-indoor interference which shows how much outdoor signal penetrates inside the building.

Challenge 3: 5G coverage analysis for sub 6 GHz and mmWave.
Solution: Ranplan Professional supports 5G planning both sub 6 GHz and mmWave since early 2019. By using Ranplan Maxwell propagation, accurate 5G planning and analysis can be done for both indoor and outdoor.

In conclusion, it was a good CommunicAsia event after the 2 years of Covid-19 pandemic situation. Even the number of attendees seems less compared to pre-Covid back in year 2019, but the crowd was dynamic and there was an excited atmosphere to back meeting face-to-face with customers and partners.
